Welcome, friend of NACUBO!

As a higher education professional familiar with NACUBO, you are likely well-informed about the challenges facing our colleagues across higher education when it comes to finding the right vendor partners for their institutions.

Person evaluating a checklist with star ratings

Sometimes higher ed leaders have an over-reliance on word-of-mouth references, others may have a favorite vendor from a prior role at another school, or some may be fans of soliciting opinions on a listserv they trust. Regardless of the approach, finding effective vendor partners for managing the enterprise of a modern higher education institution can be an enormously difficult task. Add in the complexities of the RFP process and effort for attaining buy-in from a review committee and things only become more complicated and burdensome.

Fingers on hands forming a star

What if you could cut through all the marketing clutter and marketplace confusion to learn about the companies supporting higher education by evaluating the views of other higher education peers who have direct experience with such vendors? And what if you could do this well before the pre-signature reference check stage — or even at the very beginning of your discovery process?

Having spent all of our careers working with or for higher education, the founders of EDU Vendor Stars want to help — and we believe we have a way to do so.

What is EDU Vendor Stars?

EDU Vendor Stars is an online forum where college and university staff can search for vendor partners and find ratings and reviews of companies providing services for any aspect of the higher education enterprise.

Our mission is to empower campus personnel with the tools they need to find, vet and connect with right-fit vendor providers, maximizing opportunities for creating positive outcomes — for both companies and the institutions that hire them — and minimizing the chances that partner choices will go wrong.

We encourage you to explore the site and share it with your higher education colleagues. While we are in our early days, receiving reviews of higher education vendors from people like you is our lifeblood. We hope you will consider posting a review while you’re here and we have a special offer for you. When posting a review (takes about 3 minutes), you can use the promo code Friend of NACUBO to receive an extra incentive for posting a review. Our incentives for NACUBO colleagues are:

  • $25 Amazon eGift Card for posting one review
  • $35 Amazon eGift Card for posting three reviews
  • $20 Donation in your name (or anonymously, if you prefer) to Swipe Out Hunger

FAQs on Vendor Reviews:

  • Q: What if the vendor company I want to review isn’t yet on the site?
A: No problem! When you review them, it will add them to the site!
  • Q: Will my name and/or the institution where I work be shown on the site?
A: No! Though we seek to validate the integrity of your review by asking for information about you, your role working with a vendor, and your institution, reviews show on the site 100% anonymously and your institution’s name will not be associated with your review.
  • Q: What is a “vendor”?
A: By “vendor,” we mean any kind of company or organization that helps your institution deliver the services of higher education. They might be located near your campus or across the country. Example types of companies/services can be found on these pages (other kinds of vendor companies will be added as we grow, so don’t worry if you don’t find a category for the company you wish to reviewsubmit your review and we will create a new category for that service!):

    Advancement + Awareness Services
